Life in Surf City

If you haven’t heard of Surf City, I’m not surprised. This is a small township located on Topsail Island. Maybe you’ve heard of Topsail Island, a 26-mile-long barrier island off the coast located close to Wilmington, NC. Whereas Topsail Island is 26-miles-long, Surf City is a small, walkable island section. And, it is where all the action happens. Surf City is a quaint beach town, so do not expect to find many tourist attractions.

Instead, plan to spend your days enjoying the beautiful beach. Take time to explore the town on foot. Visit the pier, shop the various boutiques and beach stores, and try out the restaurants—my favorite thing to walk across the street from the beach to the local bookstore. You will be close to all the city activities. Visitors enjoy miniature golf, surf shops, gift shops, and an area favorite, Soundside Park, which offers picnic areas, public boat ramps, and boardwalk. Surf City has plenty of bike paths making the navigation of Surf City’s parks, and 25 public beach accesses a true pleasure. Our Surf City, NC rentals can’t be beaten for convenience and amenities.

Additionally, there is a mini-golf course in Surf City and a turtle rescue and rehabilitation center. Both are family-friendly tourist attractions. Topsail Island is close to Wilmington, NC.
